Belonging and high-level connection after early retirement and during quarantine – Episode 31

Episode 031 - Belonging and high-level connection after early retirement and during quarantine

In this week’s episode, we chat about the loneliness of leaving a job, isolating during a pandemic, and living in a modern world where we’ve traded deep connections with a few people for shallow connections with many. We discuss how the feeling of belonging is one of the most vital drivers in living a meaningful life. As social creatures, we’re not only contented by connections where we can feel seen, understood, and acknowledged but it’s baked into our survival.

Listen in as Deb and Chris share their stories of working through these difficult emotions and some of the tips and tactics we’ve used to work through them.

Much love and wishes for you to find the belonging that you seek in your life!

Quotes about belonging from this episode:
“True belonging is the spiritual practice of believing in and belonging to yourself so deeply that you can share your most authentic self with the world and find sacredness in both being a part of something and standing alone in the wilderness. True belonging doesn’t require you to change who you are; it requires you to be who you are…because true belonging only happens when we present our authentic, imperfect selves to the world our sense of belonging can never be greater than our level of self-acceptance.” — Brene Brown

“You are only free when you realize you belong no place–you belong every place–no place at all. The price is high. The reward is great.” — Maya Angelou
